Yuraygir National Park

Angourie to Red Rock

May 1 to May 4 , 2022

Day 1 

Brooms Head to Angourie 

18 kms

(Our back to front day!)

The crew: Kate, Fiona, Stirling, Sarah, Jen, Adele and Helen

And we're off. Spirits are high ... despite the glum sky.
We weren't expecting to get through to Angourie
 but the rock fall proved a minor impediment to this hardy bunch.

Day 2 

Brooms Head to Minnie Water

Should have been 19kms 

but we took the inland route, which included a few detours,

 so it was more like 28kms!

Collecting rubbish on the beach ... soooo much plastic

Regrettably, we couldn't carry it all ...
 so left much of it weighted down or in abandoned barrels
in the hope that the national parks peeps come along to collect it soon.

The water proved too alluring.
We were in!

The  track from Sandon started okay

... but soon deteriorated

... and got worse!

Day 3 

Minnie Water to Wooli

14km

It started off a bit mizzly 

Heavy skies could not deter us

Another beach, another load of rubbish to collect

A few rock platforms to negotiate

... but the day was rapidly improving.

Ahhhh.

Day 4

Wooli to Red Rock

16kms

Wooli River reflections

Almost across the river ... not really knowing what to expect

A fairly easy start to what became quite a challenging trek

Scrambling over rocky headlands

And cliff faces!

Up and over.

Sadly, we didn't get a photo of Helen paddling her canoe to collect our back packs

 and carry them safely across Red Rock River while we swam it.

Also there is no photo of the magnificent Stirling doing the meet and greet

 and unloading our packs onto dry land

Can insert piccy here if we get a chance to recreate!
